About me

I'm a fine artist who graduated from Bradford School of Art in 2014. Originally from The Netherlands I have now lived and worked in West Yorkshire since 2000.

In my work I use CCTV images I find on the internet and my own photographs of everyday life around me. I use these images of overlooked and anonymous places as a starting point for my art. My work gains ambiguity in the process of creation.

I use found materials such as scrap metal, wood and leftover household paints, as well as oil and acrylic paint, transfers and collage. With my work I want to strike a balance between figurative and abstract forms. I have a preference for strong and ordered compositions which often gives my paintings a 'quietness'.

"Unsual materials/unusual effects/lovely to look at. An experienced artist, commenting on everyday life." (Judging Panel at 'Ones2Watch', April 2015)
